Did you know that we actually need to breath out to stay alive?
The majority of people believe that we need to breathe in to stay alive, when in actual fact it is the opposite.
This is because the act of breathing out purges the body of toxins that if kept in will kill you. Also, the act of breathing out is when the diaphragm is pushed up (tensed) to squeeze the air out of the lungs and when the diaphragm relaxes and falls it creates a vacuum in chest cavity which by the laws of physics has to be filled and air is then sucked into the lungs to fill that void.
So with this information in mind, can you see how breathing is a great way of ridding your body of toxins... and this is why it is one of the best and easiest ways to calm ourselves down, to re-engage and think clearly.
The practice of a few rounds of breath where we breath out for the count of 6 and breath in for the count of 4 will allow you to detoxify your body and replenish it with a good supply of oxygen.
It sounds too easy doesn't it.
Try it now, breath out to the count of 6 (or where your lungs are completely emptied) then take a deep breath in to the count of 4, then repeat this 5 times.
