There is a major thing that Counsellors and Psychiatrists are not giving you ...
After all, you work hard to earn your money and when you spend it on an expensive service you want value...right?
I am discovering through my work that something critical is missing...
First, I want to share something with you and see if you have experienced this...
I was at a counselling session chatting away, as you do...
I was explaining a very intimate and painful part of my life...
and the counsellor interupted me saying
"right Steve, thanks, that's your time up for today, we can pick this up again at our next session"
I was half way through pouring my heart out and got cut down like soldier by a machine gun...
I protested, and said I was only half way through...
Do you know what she said?
"That's ok, I have taken notes, we can pick this up next time" and that was it....off I went...
I felt horrible, disconnected and insignificant.
Now, back to that major thing that is missing...
Learning, Understanding and Strategies to move forward with.
In my experience, and when discussing this with my clients...
we are all noticing there is a lot of talking, but no real action plan.
A lot... not all, but a large majority of my clients have said they invested a lot of money... and have felt that it was a waste.
They felt duped.
The difference between Coaches and Counsellors or Psychiatrists is...
Coaches will work with their clients to discover a way forward...
and go on that journey together.
Personally, I will always ensure that my client leaves each session with an understanding... and an action plan to take them forward
even more, they can always rely upon me for support as they apply their understanding and action plan.
Coaching is about working out a way forward and taking action together.
It is not, thanks very much, now off you toddle and we will pick this up next session. It is about getting results and making changes.
When you are investing a lot of money that you have worked hard for... you want results and outcomes.
Ensure you know if your next Counsellor, Psychiatrist or Coach can get you the results you want...
Check their testimonials...
Check their results and outcomes...
Speak to their past clients and ask them how they experienced that service...
Because if they don't have past clients who are willing to share...
You have to ask yourself...
Why?
Wherever you are in the world, take care and be kind to yourself
