This is how one of my clients explained how they felt whilst they experienced a period of turbulence in their mental wellbeing...
They went onto describe
"The majority distanced themselves from me, blamed me or were angry with me..."
My client went on to explain how...
"Only my true friends and loved ones were there... by my side every step of the way..."
As they started to recover they realised
"Those who distanced, blamed or were angry come quietly back into my life..."
"Hoping I didn't notice, as they pretended that nothing happened..."
Now my client is struggling with the deception and sense of abandonment when they needed it the most...
This is not a one off experience...
This is common, very common... and the impact has ripple effects beyond imagination...
Please, there is no shame, if you don't know how to be there, learn....
Support your friends and family when they are doing it tough....
They really need you. (shared with the permission of client)
Wherever you are in the world, take care and be kind to yourself
